Maploom has been helping Hertfordshire County Council better understand transport services they provide for Special Educational Needs (SEN) and adult day care passengers through mapping and visualisation. In total, the current services provided by HCC’s own vehicles and private hire taxis carry over 3,500 passengers each day covering a total distance of 6.7 million miles per year.
Using this information and our routing and optimisation tools we have identified the most inefficient routes and and helped HCC find opportunities for cost savings, for example, through modifying the routes and combining services in new ways. The ongoing analysis using the Maploom platform, will allow services to be rationalised and ultimately can lead to costs savings.
