Maploom’s advanced geospatial analysis platform is being used by Vinescapes to provide web services that help their customers find suitable sites for new vineyards.
VineMap (powered by Maploom) provides a variety of datasets within the platform including elevation, soils, protected areas etc. which are managed and updated centrally as part of the service. All users have to do is to draw the area of interest or upload a boundary file (e.g. kml) for the site and then an automated analysis runs a suitability assessment model based on multiple criteria.
The results are delivered within a PDF report containing maps, tables and expert interpretation and recommendations. A sample report can be found here:
